Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik’s girlfriend celebrates pommel horse hero’s historic bronze medal win

 

Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik’s girlfriend adorably celebrated the athlete’s historic pommel horse routine at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“History = Made,” Tess McCracken wrote via Instagram Monday alongside a snap of the USA gymnast clinching his bronze medal.

“The most insane, magical day watching you close it out to bring home the first team medal for USA in sixteen years🇺🇸 Words can’t capture how proud I am of you❤️.”

McCracken, who shared additional photos of her beau with his team Monday, continued, “The most insane, magical day watching you close it out to bring home the first team medal for USA in sixteen years🇺🇸 Words can’t capture how proud I am of you❤️.” AP

McCracken also shared celebratory photos of Nedoroscik, 25, being hoisted by his teammates — Asher Hong, Paul Juda, Brody Malone and Fred Richard — ahead of securing third place in the all-around team competition.

Gushing over the epic moment, the Penn State alum recalled to reporters in Paris, “We were probably going to medal if I nailed my set, and they were jumping up and down and I was like, ‘I think we did it!’

“And they picked me up and, man, that’s a memory that’s going to live in my head forever.”

Monday marked the first time Team USA had secured a medal at the event since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. AP

Nedoroscik’s groundbreaking performance led Team USA to move up from seventh place and secure a medal for the first time since the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

They even beat Great Britain by a whopping two points.

“I worked my whole life up to those 45 seconds,” he continued.

The athlete will move on to compete for a gold medal against Great Britain’s Max Whitlock during Saturday’s final event.

Since 2012, Whitlock has won three gold medals and three bronze medals since his first Olympic games in London.

Ahead of qualifying for the Olympics, McCracken earned the title as the 2024 US pommel horse champion and won several national titles while studying electrical engineering at college.
