Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson have a ‘SATC’ reunion at Paris Olympics: ‘Carrie and Louise’

Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson, co-stars in the first “Sex and the City” movie, reunited in Paris on Monday to celebrate the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Hudson, 42, shared a photo to Instagram and X of the two posing in front of the illuminated Eiffel Tower.

“Look who I ran into in Paris!!” she captioned the post. “Carrie and Louise reunited at last!”

The “American Idol” alum then quoted her character in the film, Louise, writing, “Love is the thing, you know! 😉 #SATC.”

Parker, 59, is best-known for playing Carrie Bradshaw on the hit show “Sex and the City,” which ran from 1998 to 2004. The show, created by Darren Star and based on Candace Bushnell’s New York Observer column, was a massive hit in its six-season run.

Appropriately, Paris was notably featured in the series finale, where Carrie’s love interest, Big (Chris Noth), won her heart back.

Hudson appeared in the 2008 film adaptation, filmed after the show had ended, as Carrie’s assistant, Louise, who helps the columnist heal her broken heart after Big leaves her at the altar at their wedding. Louise, an incorrigible romantic, wears a keychain that spells out the word “Love” in big gold letters.

She famously tells newly single Carrie: “I’m not going to give up on love. Love is the thing, you know!”

Reflecting on her experience, Hudson told Entertainment Weekly before the 2008 movie’s release that “‘Sex and the City’ has its own rhythm. It has comic timing, and that’s new to me.

“Not to mention there’s all the people in the streets watching. My first day of shooting, we were in the subway with real New Yorkers — it shocked the mess out of me. They’re coming over to Jennifer Hudson and I’m Louise. I’m like, ‘I want to be Jennifer right now, but I’m in the middle of a scene,’” she added.

Hudson also revealed that she brought a handbag in “as Louise would do” when she was auditioning for the part with Parker. “Louise is a bag girl, she loves purses,” the talk show host said at the time. “Louise’s budget is a little [lower], but she tries to keep up. All her bags are high-end. She carries Chanel, everybody, you name it. She tries to steal Carrie’s shoes.”

Hudson and Parker’s reunion coincides with the closing of New York City’s Astor Place Starbucks, where the “Sex and the City” scene in which Louise interviews to be Carrie’s assistant took place.

Entertainment journalist Louis Peitzman reacted to the pair’s reunion post, writing: “On the day the Astor Place Starbucks closes … everything is connected.”

Hudson shared other glimpses of her Paris trip to her social media, including solo photos at the Eiffel Tower. She also sang a showstopping rendition of “Hallelujah” while visiting Versailles.

“Bonjour, Paris!!! Let the games begin! #Paris2024 #Olympics,” the “Jennifer Hudson Show” host tweeted.

Meanwhile, Parker was spotted watching the Games with her husband, Matthew Broderick, and their kids.
