Star Olympic gymnast Simone Biles isn’t the only athlete in her marriage.
The seven-time Olympic medalist, who stands at 4-foot-8, has been married to Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens since 2023.

Owens grew up in St. Louis, Missouri
Owens was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Christian Brothers College High School.
He was raised by his mother, Arthurine Cannon, and her husband, Nathaniel Cannon.
Owens and Biles met on a dating app
Biles and Owens, who stands at 5-foot-11, met on the dating app Raya in March 2020.
Biles’ younger sister, Adria, got the romance moving by inviting Owens to the family’s lake house after catching the two on FaceTime, according to reports.
Owens and Biles made their romance Instagram official in August 2020, with the four-time Olympic gold medalist captioning the post, “It’s just us,” with a brown heart emoji.
Owens proposed to Biles in February 2022. She announced the engagement the day after Valentine’s Day.
They first wed in a courthouse ceremony on April 22, 2023, before celebrating with family and friends a month later in Cabo.
Owens is an NFL player
Owens began playing football at 12 years old. He went on to play at Missouri Western University.
Owens signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2018 but was cut from the team due to a preseason injury.
As the 2019 season rolled around, the safety secured a deal with the Houston Texans.
Four years later, in 2023, Owens signed with the Green Bay Packers.
His most recent move was in March 2024, when he inked a two-year deal with the Bears.
Owens supports Biles at her events
Owens has long supported Biles, including her bout with the “twisties” during the 2021 Tokyo Games.
“Imma ride with you through whatever baby,” Owens wrote on Instagram at the time. “Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB 🤞🏽You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that, i love you so much and i can’t wait till you come home and i get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I’m always here for you babe.”
Owens, who will cheer on Biles in Paris during the 2024 Olympics, called her qualifying routine “flawless” in a series of Instagram posts from July 2024.
Biles will compete in all four events of the gymnastics team final on July 30, 2024.
