What is Gold Zone?
Gold Zone is a live show on Peacock that, inspired by NFL RedZone, whips around the Olympics to show you all of the moments worth checking out live as they’re happening with a special emphasis on gold medal events.
Sometimes the show will present two events side-by-side, while other times, you’ll be able to watch as many as 10 live events at the same time, but Gold Zone typically focuses in on single events as they’re winding down with the broadcast play-by-play.
Longtime RedZone host Scott Hanson kicks off GoldZone coverage daily, with Andrew Siciliano, Matt Iseman, and Akbar Gbajabiamila joining in throughout the broadcast.
Gold Zone has gained attention with Olympic fans online, too, with one X user declaring that Peacock has had a “generational glow-up,” amid its Olympic coverage and another wondering how “[this] hasn’t been the standard for all sports for ages.”
When is Gold Zone on?
Gold Zone will be live on Peacock every day through July 10 from 7 a.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET.
How to watch Gold Zone on Peacock:
In Peacock, the Olympics have a place in the top navigation bar and in that section, you’ll be able to find everything live now, including GoldZone. GoldZone is also available to watch from the beginning and replay later on.
Peacock has two subscription plans: Peacock Premium with ads($7.99/month or $79.99/year) and Peacock Premium Plus without ads($13.99/month or $139.99/year).
Peacock also offers discounted Premium plans for students ($1.99/month) and members of the armed forces ($2.99/month).
Since the Olympics are live there are unavoidable ads that mirror the ones on cable, so we’d recommend sticking with the lower-priced Premium plan. You’ll only need one month of a subscription to watch the entire Olympics.
What is Peacock Multi-View?
In addition to Gold Zone, Peacock also has several multi-view streams depending on what events are live. The main multi-view stream broadcasts four top events at once, giving you the choice of which stream to listen to audio from. It also provides helpful notes about the events being streamed
A gymnastics multi-view live during the men’s team final had four streams for different events (high bar, pommel horse, etc.), while a tennis multi-view showed four tennis events live on different courts at the same time.
