Rita Ora was forced to cancel her gig at Campus Fesztival as she revealed she spent time in a hospital in Budapest before her performance.

The singer, 33, was set to perform in Hungary tonight in the city of Debrecen as part of an annual music event.

The former Masked Singer UK judge didn’t specify exactly why she was unable to perform but did reveal that doctors insisted she didn’t go on with her performance on July 27.

‘Please forgive this unexpected turn of events but sadly I will not be able to perform at Campus Fesztival tonight.

‘Having spent the night in hospital in Budapest, I must rest thoroughly and follow doctor’s orders.

‘I am so sorry to my fans who are going to be there today and I’m truly thankful for your understanding,’ she said in a statement on her Instagram story.

‘Lithuania you blew my mind!! 50k people, in the pouring rain, I appreciate every single one of you and you brought the ENERGY 🇱🇹💖

‘SO happy I got to headline the As Young As Vilnius festival, an absolute honour,’ her caption on social media read.

This isn’t the first time Rita has been forced to cancel a concert because of ill health as the same thing happened back in 2018. The star revealed at the time that doctors told her to avoid singing: ‘It’s a risk and they’ve advised me to rest’.

The singer has been performing across stages in Europe this summer and made headlines in the UK at the Mighty Hoopla festival in June.

It is thought that Rita’s next scheduled performance will be next month on August 16, at the Lovestream Festival in Slovakia.

She is also set to have several performance dates at Manchester Pride a the end of August where she will be singing at five consecutive events.

It is unclear if the star will be able to maintain these commitments across the continent at this time.
