Snoop Dogg’s role carrying the torch at the Paris2024 Olympics is just one of the many weird and wonderful side hustles from the rapper.

On Friday, July 26, the Drop It Like It’s Hot singer made headlines and he proudly carried the Olympic torch through Saint-Denis, in the North of Paris.

While some have questioned why Snoop Dogg, 52, is involved in the sporting competition, he also has another major involvement in the games.

The Young, Wild, and Free rapper is a special US correspondent for NBC and said he’s going to bring some ‘Snoop style’ to the job.

The rapper whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. announced on January 1, 2024, in a press release: ‘It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked.

‘Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?’

While this might seem like a bit of a rogue side hustle from the rapper, this isn’t the first time he has danced to the beat of his drum with a role outside of his rap career.

In 2023, Snoop Dogg’s launched a rosé wine at Co-op which he claimed paired really well with spicy chicken wings.

And this wasn’t even his first foodie venture as he also released a cookbook called From Crook to Cook, which was released in 2018.

In 2016 he also launched a cooking show called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, with chef Martha Stewart.

He was slated for releasing gospel songs following a rap career but the rapper wasn’t bothered and said in response to the critics: ‘This is not a money-driven project – it’s a spirit-driven project.’

Although it seems the artist might just be up for any challenge, the Sexual Eruption singer has been known to turn down some gigs.

It was reported in January, that Snoop Dogg turned down a $100,000,000 OnlyFans deal as he said his wife, Shante Broadus, 52, would not be happy.

Snoop revealed all in an Instagram Live interview with actor Slink Johnson on Wake & Bake with Double S Express.

‘They was like, “OnlyFans wants you to come on there, Snoop. … You can do about $100 million. All you gotta do is pull that thang out.”

‘I’m like, “N***a, I got a Black wife, n***a.” Ain’t no way in the world she gonna allow me to go on there and pull that thang out for no amount of money,’ he said.
