The hero wife of a soldier who was stabbed outside his barracks was a member of a military wives choir and sang on TV.

Eileen Teeton rushed out of her home to see her partner Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton, 47, being set upon by a masked attacker wielding two huge kitchen knives.

Her piercing screams begging for the attacker to leave him alone were caught by a neighbour’s Ring doorbell.

She even tried to pull the attacker off her husband as he lay soaked in blood on the ground.

One neighbour said: ‘The attacker stabbed him about 12 times. This was with two kitchen knives, about nine to ten inches long.

‘His wife tried to pull the attacker away. The attacker didn’t want her though, just the soldier.’

Anthony Esan, 24, has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with Lt Col Teeton’s attempted murder.
