Transformers director Michael Bay is reportedly in talks to adapt the controversial YouTube show Skibidi Toilet for both film and TV.

Skibidi Toilet is a very difficult thing to describe, if you’re lucky enough never to have seen it. It’s an animated YouTube series, made using Half-Life 2’s Source engine, about human heads with toilets for bodies, who are constantly at war in a storyline that’s impossible to follow if you’re above the age of six.

Earlier this year the show came under Russian investigation, after a parent reported it to the authorities, saying their son was obsessed with the show and that it ‘has a detrimental effect on children’.

Instead of being taken down, however, Skibidi Toilet is close to becoming a blockbuster film and TV series, made by none other than Transformers director Michael Bay.

Skibidi Toilet is being developed for both film and TV by Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman.

When talking to Variety, Goodman confirmed that they are working on adapting the YouTube show.

‘We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side,’ Goodman said, adding, ‘But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.’

Goodman went as far as saying that Skibidi Toilet creator Alexey Gerasimov is ‘building something that could be the next Transformers or could be a Marvel universe.’

The details stop there, and so there’s no explanation as to how they’re going to make human toilet creatures shooting guns and never speaking into something adults can watch.

That might not matter too much though, as Skibidi Toilet’s main pull is the massive fanbase it comes with.

The first Skibidi Toilet video was posted in February 2023, and creator Gerasimov usually gets between 30 and 60 million views on each episode, which are only a few minutes long.

There’s no denying Skibidi Toilet’s popularity and, considering it’s Bay who’s directing the adaptation, it’s almost certainly going to be made in live action.

It also sounds like Goodman is very interested in the universe Gerasimov has built, which is full of creatures that look similar to transformers.
