With the news that Shrek 5 will be released next year, some weird and wacky fan theories are coming out of the enchanted forest.
If you are familiar with the Shrek universe and have always thought that Lord Farquaad looks like someone, but you just can’t put your finger on it… wonder no more.
Podcasters ‘Just The Nobody’s’ wanted to explore Lord Farquaad’s family tree and what they uncovered will make you want to move Far Far Away.
“They both have black hair”
“Let’s start by talking about who Lord Farquaad’s mother is… there’s a theory that his mom is Snow White.
“We see in Shrek he has the magic mirror on the wall. The same magic mirror that Snow White has, and that’s exactly how he got the magic mirror. From his mom, Snow White!”
“They both have black hair,” Okay, that’s not so uncommon.
But then they point out that his outfit choice might not be an accident, either: “They both have the same puffy sleeves, with the same [tear drop] cutouts.”
Who’s his daddy?
So then the real question becomes, if his mum’s Snow White, who’s his dad?
These onion layers are about to be peeled!
“It’s one of the seven dwarfs!” they continue. “So there’s only one dwarf that has the most in common with Lord Farquaad. If you look at what he wears, you will see that he’s always in red. He wears a black belt. He’s literally wearing what Grumpy wears! Lord Farquaad is wearing a mix of what Snow White wears and what Grumpy wears.”
“Lord Farquaad is evil, so it makes sense that Grumpy would make an evil child.”
“I am screaming”
While some fans were shocked, others felt compelled to say, “That’ll do, Donkey, that’ll do!”
“I am screaming,” one fan wrote.
“It would make sense that Snow White would mess with one of the dwarfs, and no one didn’t know about it,” another added.
“Wrong mom”
Shrek fans quickly pointed out that Lord Farquaad’s minions stole the magic mirror, so the math didn’t math for them.
“Wrong mom because Snow White was one of the princesses he chose to date/marry. Unless he has an Oedipus complex, that can’t be his mother,” said one, but that seems a little too deep from DreamWorks.
“In the musical, they confirm his parents were Grumpy and the Princess and the Pea,” a Shrek aficionado wrote.
Then this fan has an alternative theory: “It makes more sense that the evil queen could have been his mother all along. Maybe the evil queen found a way to escape death.”
