Q: For those who aren’t familiar, what is Private and Co.?

A: Private and Co. is a boutique in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown, located at 83 East Pender St. We also have an online store that ships worldwide. We curate a selection of premium menswear and lifestyle goods, ranging from Vancouver to New York, to Italy, to Japan. Our mission is to bring the most stylish and highest-quality threads to the streets of Vancouver.

Q: What makes it unique?

A: We have one of the largest selection of Japanese Selvedge denim or heritage-made denim in Canada, some of which are exclusive to Private and Co., in Vancouver, including The Flat Head, Studio D’Artisan, Full Count, and Fortela. In-store, we also carry vintage homeware, emulating the experience you’d find from a classic curios store.

Furthermore, at the back of the store, you’ll discover Duffle Bag Store, a shop-in-shop that carries an extensive collection of deadstock sneakers and clothing.

Q: Who is the target customer?

A: Our core customers are men, aged 30s to 50s. They appreciate quality-made goods and craftsmanship. They love their denim and are always on the lookout for the next great pair of jeans or jacket that they could wear everywhere — to work, to go out, or to travel.

Q: Is there a hero style or brand in the offering?

A: Classic casual wear with a hint of Japanese/Americana influence.

Q: What is the price range for products at your store?

A: On average, $150-$500.
