Three injured in Lanaudière highway collision

A 42-year-old man driving a truck along Route 348 collided with a vehicle turning onto the highway at Forest Rd. in Rawdon. The vehicle was carrying three people.

RAWDON — The condition of a 43-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a collision on Saturday in Rawdon, in Quebec’s Lanaudière region, has improved and her life is no longer in danger, a Sûreté du Québec spokesperson said Sunday.

Emergency services were called at about 12:45 p.m. about the crash, which took place at the intersection of Route 348, a provincial highway, and Forest Rd.

According to preliminary information from the SQ, a 42-year-old man driving a truck along Route 348 collided with a vehicle turning onto the highway at Forest Rd. It is not yet clear how the collision happened.

Three people were in the second vehicle. The 77-year-old male driver and a minor were slightly injured. The third person in the vehicle, the 43-year-old woman, was critically injured and was transported to a hospital.

A police officer trained in collision investigation was sent to the scene on Saturday, said SQ spokesperson Adam Marineau.
