JD Vance calls on Biden to resign from presidency immediately

Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance is calling on President Biden to step down from the White House immediately.

The Ohio senator claimed that if the president isn’t fit to campaign, he shouldn’t be trusted to remain in the White House, in a message sent hours before Biden said he was suspending his election campaign.

“Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief,” Vance wrote on X.

“There is no middle ground,” he continued.

Biden sent shockwaves through the political universe Sunday afternoon, caving to massive pressure to call his campaign quits.

“Democrats can’t have it both ways. If Joe Biden can’t handle a debate or a rally, he can’t stand up to Putin or have access to the nuclear codes,” Savannah Viar, Deputy Communications Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee also wrote in a statement Sunday afternoon.

Earlier sunday, Sen. Joe Manchin had joined four of his Senate Democratic colleagues in calling on President Biden to step aside and allow “a new generation” to come forward.

Manchin (I-WV), who left the Democratic Party in May but still caucuses with them, joins the likes of senators Peter Welch (D-Vt.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) in the call.
