An actress who ‘shattered her body’ after falling five floors from a hospital balcony has shared a health update on her condition.

In May, Mamie Laverock was hospitalised for a medical emergency before suffering shocking injuries after the horrific fall.

Best known for her role as nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan in Hallmark series When Calls the Heart, the 20-year-old ‘sustained life-threatening injuries’ and was placed on life support, after undergoing ‘multiple extensive surgeries’.

Now, two months on, she has thanked those who offered their support and contributed to a GoFundMe set up in her name after the accident.

In an update posted on the page, the actress shared the following message.

‘Thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say. My heart is full,’ she wrote.

‘Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys. Thank you. MAMIE.’

Alongside her note, Mamie’s mum, Nicole Rockmann, and stepdad, Rob Compton, announced that they would be shutting down the page, which had surpassed its goal of $30,000 CAD (£16,800).

‘The Fund has now closed,’ they wrote.

‘Please know how much you helped this family in our hardest circumstances. Thank you for caring.’

Mamie was hospitalised in Winnipeg on May 11 before being transferred to a hospital in Vancouver.

Her family said the actress was receiving ‘intensive treatment’ there when she was ‘escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories’ on May 26.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, her family said the fall was not ‘intended’ or a suicide attempt and that they planned to take legal action against the hospital, who has said it cannot comment on the incident due to patient privacy.

Earlier this month the actress celebrated her 20th birthday, with her mum sharing that Mamie had managed to ‘move onto her stomach, push herself up and hold on’ to her mother and share their first hug since the accident.

Her mother told People the moment felt like a ‘miracle’.

Mamie starred in nine episodes of When Calls the Heart from 2014-2023.

Prior to her stint on the Hallmark Channel, her first professional role in 2012’s This Means War starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
