LeBron James after USA’s one-point win over South Sudan: ‘I like getting tested, baby’

LeBron James doesn’t think it should come too easy, but he likely could not have imagined need to make a driving layup with eight seconds left to save Team USA from a historic upset.

The U.S. beat South Sudan, 101-100 on Saturday night at London’s O2 Arena, and despite the near historic defeat, James let it be known he liked the challenge.

“I like those better than the blowouts,” James said as he walked into the tunnel after the game. “At least we’re getting tested. I like getting tested, baby.”

James led Team USA with 25 points, including his game-winner in the closing seconds.

South Sudan made a few last-second efforts to put the ball in the net but fell short as the final buzzer sounded.

They will face Germany on Monday and then make their way to Group C play at the Olympics beginning July 28.
