Popular 2000s star and S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt is reportedly eyeing up a move to Costa Rica a year on from the sudden death of her former bandmate Paul Cattermole

Hannah, 43, and Paul, who died unexpectedly aged 46 in April 2023 from heart-related issues, sang in the hit band together in the early 2000s, producing iconic hits such as Reach and Bring It All Back.

Briefly dating in 2001, the pair remained close, with Hannah devastatingly admitting after Paul’s death that she blamed herself due to a ‘deeply disturbing’ email from her former bandmate in 2021, of which she will ‘never’ reveal the contents.

Following his death, Hannah parted ways with her bandmates during their reunion tour, and a source now claims she’s looking to leave behind the UK as well.

According to the insider, the singer, who is currently dating Adam Thomas visited Costa Rica in 2018 and was so inspired by its beauty that the couple decided to open a themed cafe in Twickenham.

However, the rising cost of living and other roadblocks are reportedly preventing them from opening the cafe and the couple, who share two children, Tea, five, and Tora, three, are considering selling up and relocating.

Speaking to The Sun, the source said, ‘It’s the latest in a sequence of setbacks. The new plan is selling up and moving to Costa Rica to live off the land.’

Adding, ‘That’s the dream, to move to Costa Rica and buy some land or a farm and live the simple life with the girls.’

It comes mere months after Hannah opted not to return for the Dancing On Ice final despite being invited by show bosses to do so.

The star left the ITV show in week three with professional partner Andy Buchanan. They were automatically eliminated following a one-week-only rule change in which the couple with the lowest number of votes were axed without taking part in the skate-off.

As part of the annual tradition, the season finale sees every contestant return to showcase their skills on the ice in a group routine. However, a source told The Sun bosses had ‘not received confirmation’ from the singer or her reps.

Prior to appearing on the show, Hannah revealed she had been battling an autoimmune condition that left her with chronic fatigue, brain fog and vertigo.
