Top five Jets players to watch during training camp 2024

Ahead of the start of training camp, The Post’s Brian Costello looks at the top five Jets players to watch:

Aaron Rodgers, QB

You didn’t think we would go with a backup guard, did you?

All eyes will be on Rodgers as he returns from the torn Achilles.

It will be interesting to see if the Jets give him rest and if he plays at all in the preseason.

His movement skills are the big question.

He can still throw it.

Haason Reddick, DE

This is a player to watch on whether he will be there.

Reddick is unhappy with his contract after arriving in a trade with the Eagles.

He stayed away all spring.

He faces fines if he misses camp practices.

He could “hold in” and claim an injury so he avoids fines but still does not practice.

Tyron Smith, LT

The Cowboys did a nice job managing Smith last season, and he played 13 games, the most he played since 2019.

The Jets likely will take the same approach, which will mean plenty of days off for Smith in camp.

Still, they need this offensive line to get time together.

It will be a balance.

Braelon Allen, RB

The rookie from Wisconsin was impressive in the spring, particularly catching the ball out of the backfield.

Can he carry that over into camp?

He is a potential X factor for this offense as a complement to Breece Hall.

Will McDonald, DE

The 2023 first-round pick had a limited role as a rookie but showed flashes.

With Bryce Huff and John Franklin-Myers gone, will McDonald get a bigger role or will he still be fighting for playing time?

A strong training camp can help his case.
