Join us in this awesome construction-holiday scavenger hunt

Everything is up to interpretation. We don’t make the rules, you get to fight that out with your family.

The only-in-Quebec construction holiday officially starts Sunday, but everyone knows the unofficial start was 3 p.m. Friday.

It’s OK if your destination is Balconville instead of a campground. We have a scavenger hunt you can join that’ll get you out and exploring Montreal.

Everything is up to interpretation. We don’t make the rules, you get to fight that out with your family. Winner takes all (if “all” is bragging rights; we don’t condone gambling).

The construction holiday runs from July 21 to Aug. 3.

Find a zombie construction site. More than 190,000 construction workers have time off, but did they put away their things before clocking out? Emergency repairs will still be done during the holiday, so this only counts if no work is happening.

Find something that makes you think of the circus. Political shenanigans or your ad-hoc vacation plans count.

Find a church. No, that’s too easy. Find a fruit or vegetable at a local market that you’ve never tried. Then try it.

Find a round piece of architecture or infrastructure. We’d name a few, but that’s cheating. Only you know which ones popped into your head just now.
