A’Ja Wilson rips Aces teammates for Usher pics after loss to Sky

A’Ja Wilson took Usher’s advice and let it burn.

The two-time WNBA Finals MVP ripped her Aces teammates for seemingly being more focused on taking postgame photos with the famous R&B artist than producing in a disappointing 93-85 home loss to the Sky.

“They ain’t did s–t all day, but they wanna take a motherf–king picture with Usher,” Wilson said moments before, ironically, taking a photo with the “Yeah!” singer.

While it would be easy to believe Wilson was joking about her teammates’ excitement about meeting the eight-time Grammy winner, she truly seemed ticked off after receiving little help from her teammates in Tuesday’s loss.

The 27-year-old led the team with a herculean 28-point, 14-rebound effort, but only two other Aces tallied double-digit points in the setback that dropped the Aces to 16-8 but just 8-5 at home.

Rookie Kate Martin also left the game in the first quarter with a lower right leg injury.

One teammate captured speaking to Usher before Wilson was Chelsea Gray, who tallied a modest seven points, five assists and two rebounds.

The referees even joined in on the fun too, as shown in a YouTube video posted by Vegas Sports Today.

Wilson’s mood quickly shifted, though, once Usher approached her, with the two sharing a hug as the former South Carolina star smiled.

She even presented Usher with a jersey, while one teammate seemed to ask why her jersey had not been presented to the celebrity.

More teammates, not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to mingle, grabbed photos with Usher after Wilson’s jersey sharing.

Usher and Wilson actually have a history, with Wilson imploring Usher to celebrate with the team last year after the Aces’ title triumph over the Liberty.

“Usher, I better see you, Usher,” Wilson said after the Aces won the series, 3-1. “I’m not playing with you, Usher.”

Wilson also was fed by Usher during a concert as he sang “There Goes My Baby,” as shown in a TikTok posted by ESPNW in October 2023.
