Mark Hamill is feeling the wrath of Donald Trump supporters after the Star Wars actor mocked the ear injury the Republican presidential nominee suffered in an assassination attempt over the weekend.

On Monday night, Hamill shared a picture to social media of the bandage over Trump’s ear while the former president attended the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

“[First] APPEARANCE of ludicrously oversized ear bandage, apparently not needed prior to tonight,” Hamill wrote on X alongside an ear and tears of laughter emojis.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the post has been seen by approximately 10 million people and has more than 29,000 comments, with many voicing support for Trump.

“How big a bandage do you think is acceptable for getting shot in the head?” one commenter wrote.

Another suggested Hamill’s soul needed a bandage.

“You must be hurting a lot to be such an awful person. I’ll pray for you.”

One person wrote that the actor was “jealous” of the former president.

“You will never have the strength this man has,” they wrote. “You jealous little clown. You are nothing.”

A day earlier, Hamill had a different tone concerning the assassination attempt at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“There is no place for violence in politics — EVER,” he wrote. “I’m grateful the former president is OK. That said, never forget that this is the guy who promised the NRA he would do ‘nothing’ on gun control and told victims of shootings to “just get over it’.”

While speaking at the rally, Trump turned his head before gunshots rang out. He grabbed his right ear and dropped to the ground as Secret Service agents ran to the podium to shield him.

Seconds later, the agents and Trump stood up, with Trump fist pumping the crowd and yelling “fight, fight, fight” before he was whisked away in a waiting vehicle.

The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was immediately shot dead by Secret Service snipers.
