Ingrid Andress delivers train wreck of a national anthem performance at Home Run Derby

The 2024 Home Run Derby began on the wrong note.

Several of them, in fact.

Ingrid Andress’ rendition of the National Anthem ahead of Monday’s festivities at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas drew harsh criticism across social media.

“That rendition of the national anthem was more harmful to America than Pearl Harbor,” one X user wrote.

“New awful national anthem just dropped,” posted another.

“The worst National Anthem I’ve ever heard,” added another.

The 32-year-old country singer is a four-time Grammy Award nominee, and may have put herself in the running among the historically bad anthem performances.

Roseanne Barr’s 1990 rendition at a San Diego Padres game — complete with shout-singing the verses of “The Star-Spangled Banner” while grabbing her crotch and spitting on the pitcher’s mound — is the bar for comparing lowly attempts at the song.

Ingrid Andress' version of the national anthem inspired plenty of negative feedback.

Pop singer Fergie delivered an ear-splittingly awful attempt at the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend, for which she later apologized.

“I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone,” she said. “I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
