JD Vance, 39, officially coronated as Trump’s VP at RNC

MILWAUKEE — The Republican National Convention officially nominated JD Vance as the party’s candidate for vice president.

The party “overwhelmingly” crowned Vance (R-Ohio) as the pick for vice president Monday, just after former President Donald Trump announced him as his VP pick.

“JD has had a very successful business career in Technology and Finance, and now, during the Campaign, will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

Vance (R-Ohio), 39, was seen shaking hands with his state delegation including Gov. Mike DeWine as he entered, drawing an electric reaction from the audience as delegates got ready to officially name him the nominee for vice president.

Trump, 78, was officially voted the Republican nominee for president shortly before Vance’s appearance. He announced Vance as his VP pick on Truth Social.

“JD has had a very successful business career in Technology and Finance, and now, during the Campaign, will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for,” Trump wrote.

This is a developing story.
