Deion Sanders has a lot to celebrate.
Deiondra Sanders, the daughter of the Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach, got engaged to R&B singer Jacquees at her baby shower over the weekend, as seen in a video shared by Jacquees on Instagram.
Jacquees, who reportedly began dating Deiondra last year, proposed with a four-page letter he read over the microphone before presenting his bride-to-be with a stunning round diamond ring, according to TMZ.
“Me and my [Fiancée],” the singer wrote.
Deiondra and Jacquees announced in March they are expecting “Baby Que.”
The couple revealed at a gender reveal party two months later that a baby boy is on the way.
Sanders’ son, Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders, was also seen at Deiondra’s shower, which took place at a backyard pool.
The Hall-of-Fame defensive back shares Shilo, daughter Shelomi and son Shedeur, Coloardo’s star quarterback, with ex-wife Pilar Sanders.
Sanders shares Deiondra and his son, Deion Jr. (Bucky), with his first wife, Carolyn Chambers.
“She said YES!” Jacquees captioned another Instagram post, which included photos from the engagement.
The baby shower was themed “A Star Is Born,” as seen in photos the couple reposted on social media.
Deiondra opened up about her pregnancy journey in March, explaining that she previously had four myomectomy surgeries.
“Even though this was not planned nor expected, this is still something God allowed to happen,” she wrote in her pregnancy announcement at the time. “I’m not having my baby to keep a man. I am having my baby for all the times I was told I wouldn’t be able to.
“I’m having my baby for the 4 myomectomy surgeries I have had. I am having my baby for all the years I stayed on birth control even though it gave me breast tumors. I’m having my baby for all the Doctors that told me I wouldn’t make it out the first trimester. I’m having a baby for the 7 current fibroids that surrounds my uterus to this day. I’m having a baby for all the high risk moms that was scared everyday thinking they would miscarry. I’m keeping my baby for the 3 Months I continued to bleed everyday after I found out I was pregnant. I’m having this baby to give hope to all the other women that may be in my situation.”
It’s unclear if Sanders attended the baby shower as he participated in the 2024 MLB Celebrity Softball Game at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, in Arlington on Saturday.
Sanders played with four different MLB franchises in the 1990s, including the Yankees, Braves, Reds and Giants.
