Ineos shows off special edition and concept trucks, SUVs at Goodwood

It’s like the Easter Jeep Safari – but with tea and crumpets

  • Ineos trots out numerous concept trucks and SUVs
  • Portal axles make a capable off-roader even more so
  • Grenadier Detour will see limited production

The very British brand, which is currently building numerous brutish BMW-powered off-roaders which pick up precisely where the old Land Rover Defender left off (only better), rolled out a half-dozen concepts at Goodwood this week. They ranged from a stubby pickup truck to a V8-powered variant of its SUV to – most importantly – a pair of units fitted with portal axles. Excellent.

What is a portal axle?

If Ineos can maintain this level of product, we’ve no problem with them using Goodwood the way Jeep invades Moab every year. Right cool, innit?
