Fire crews battle two-alarm blaze in southeast Calgary

The Calgary Fire Department began receiving calls of a garage fire in the back alley of the 2000 block of 37th Street S.E. at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday

Calgary fire crews are fighting a two-alarm blaze affecting two residences in the southeast community of Forest Lawn.

The Calgary Fire Department began receiving calls of a garage fire in the back alley of the 2000 block of 37th Street S.E. at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, said CFD public information officer Carol Henke.

“The garage fire quickly spread to the power line and then to the house,” said Henke. “The neighbouring garage and house have also been significantly damaged.”

Henke said at 3:30 p.m. that no injuries have been reported and crews are still actively fighting the fire.
