Laval police seek victims connected with sexual assault suspect

Police allege he had victims in multiple cities “across Quebec.”

Laval police have turned to the public in an effort to determine if a 21-year-old sexual assault suspect had other victims.

Laurent Bélanger was arrested July 2 by investigators of the sexual assault squad of the Laval police department. He has since appeared in court to face charges of online luring of a minor, sexual contact, inciting sexual contact and sexual assault.

Bélanger was released subject to conditions and is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 26.

Police allege Bélanger used social media to contact underage teenaged girls and gain their trust. They allege further that he then arranged in-person meetings where the sexual offences were committed. Investigators allege Bélanger had victims in multiple cities “across Quebec.”

Anyone who believes they were a victim of Laurent Bélanger is urged to call the Laval police information line at 450-662-4636 or call 911 and mention file RSL-230606-032.
