Who: Shakey Graves, Big Four Roadhouse, 9:45 p.m.
Shakey Graves hails from Austin, Texas, the capital of cool country music. Singer-songwriter and actor — he had roles in Friday Night Lights and Spy Kids when he was still known as Alejandro Rose-Garcia — first gained attention as a busker-style, one-man band and for his unusual ways of distributing music. He has since earned a legion of fans for his blues-folk snarl — “country (music) was a bad word when I was growing up,” he told the Red Deer Advocate in 2016 — and stellar songwriting.

Maturity is always a shaky proposition in punk music, but these Mississauga rockers have been at it for 31 years. The band had been toiling in the indie trenches for 10 years before hitting it big with the Juno-winning self-titled debut. Their latest record, Crisis of Faith, came out in 2022.
