Add Gleyber Torres to the Yankees’ list of injury concerns.
Torres exited Friday’s game in the fourth inning with what was called right groin tightness after legging out an infield single.
The Yankees said there are no plans for him to undergo imaging.
The second baseman, who has been mostly playing through a groin injury over the last few weeks, appeared to be in some discomfort after running through first base.
After a quick talk with manager Aaron Boone and a trainer, he was replaced by pinch-runner Oswaldo Cabrera.
Torres had sat for two games last week with manager Aaron Boone feeling like he needed a mental “reset” after struggling at the plate for most of the season.
In six games since, he was batting 7-for-24 with a home run and four RBIs.
The Yankees have already lost Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring strain) and Anthony Rizzo (arm fracture) from the middle of their lineup in recent weeks.
Utility infielder Jon Berti is also still a few weeks away from returning from a calf strain, eliminating an option to replace Torres at second base if he were to miss time.
