Kevin Bacon actually disguised himself as a normal person for a low-key day out in LA, and realized how much he hated it.

The actor, most known for his role in the iconic Footloose, shot to fame in 1980s horror flick Friday the 13th, and has never left the spotlight since.

To prove his staying power in Hollywood, the 65-year-old has two blockbuster movies being released this week alone, commanding roles in both MaXXXine and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on Netflix.

Touching on his incredible career in a new interview, the star revealed that he went above and beyond in a bit to experience a ‘normal’ day where he wasn’t recognized and approached in person.

‘I’m not complaining, but I have a face that’s pretty recognizable,’ he told Vanity Fair. ‘Putting my hat and glasses on is only going to work to a certain extent.

‘I went to a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise.’

Kevin was given a set of fake teeth, a prosthetic nose and glasses, and decided to try out his cover at the Grove, a famous – and very busy – shopping center in LA.

How did the star’s mysterious new look work out? A little too well, it turns out.

‘Nobody recognized me,’ he continued before quipping. ‘People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice. Nobody said, “I love you.” I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a f**king coffee or whatever.

‘I was like, This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.’

Well, at least he’s honest…

Kevin has landed roles in the biggest films and franchises around, including A Few Good Men, X-Men, Tremors and Apollo 13.

But there’s no doubt that the role he’s most linked to is Ren McCormack from Footloose – the 1984 flick following a teenager who attempts to overturn a small town’s strict rules forbidding dancing.

It includes some of the most memorable dance scenes in movie history, but don’t even think about asking the dad-of-two to recreate the moves.

In a recent chat for ’s Sixty Seconds, he told us: ‘It’s the 40th anniversary of Footloose. And while I’m not somebody that has much of a rearview mirror, I’m now forced to look at that moment in my life.

‘When people say, ‘Do the Footloose dance,’ I don’t know what the Footloose dance is. I am not a trained monkey.

‘I was on a red carpet recently because we inducted Dean Pitchford – who wrote the Footloose screenplay and co-wrote all the songs in the movie – into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. And we played the song, my brother and I, for him. And that was really, really fun.

But on the red carpet, a couple of people said, ‘Will you do the Footloose dance?’ And I’m like, ‘No!’ I’ll do that when I choose to do it, but not on command.’
