Former Spandau Ballet singer Ross Davidson has reportedly admitted to filming himself fondling women to ‘spice things up’.

The 36-year-old Scottish performer – who is also known under the stage name Ross William Wild – would allegedly demand sex up to six times a night and forced victims when they showed reluctance, it is claimed.

He is accused of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, and one of controlling behaviour, which he denies. The allegations are said to have taken place across a ten-year period between 2013 and 2023.

Davidson starred in the West End musical We Will Rock You, before joining Spandau Ballet in 2018. He was the temporary replacement for the original singer Tony Hadley.

Jurors at London’s Wood Green Crown Court heard prosecutor Richard Hearnden say that Davidson was ‘very good looking’ and ‘a bit of a sex symbol’ – but one who had ‘a darker side’.

The Daily Mail reports that the court heard that Davidson filmed himself groping women as they slept and role-played rape scenarios. When interviewed by police Davidson said ‘everything was consensual between him and the women concerned’.

Charlotte Newell KC, defending, asked during Wednesday’s court proceedings, about claims Davidson filmed himself squeezing an alleged victim’s chest while she slept.

‘Were you forcing alcohol on her so that she would get drunk so you could abuse her?’ Davidson was asked. He replied: ‘Absolutely not, no,’ the publication reported.

He described his sex life as ‘moderate to experimental’ and said the alleged victim ‘came up with ideas she wanted to try and do.’

‘She’d wanted to be hit and stuff, and I said absolutely not. I would never force my will on anybody.’

The publication added that the court heard that Davidson told the woman about a fantasy he had about having sex while the other person was asleep. Davidson said he never actually wanted to do it. ‘I would find that a bit weird,’ he said.

Davidson did admit to not deleting a video of himself touching a woman’s breast while she slept, despite being asked by the alleged victim.

He was then asked about another woman, whom he allegedly assaulted at Cannes Film Festival. When asked if he spiked her, Davidson replied: ‘Absolutely not. I find the suggestion abhorrent.’

‘I wanted to spice things up, so I said: “Can I film your boobs?”‘ He admitted to not deleting the video despite being requested to do so.

The trial will continue.

According to The Sun, Hearnden claimed that ‘the women in this case can all attest to that sinister part of his personality’, even if it was not the first thing girls and women would notice about him.

The solicitor added: ‘In this case, many young women have come forward to tell the police that they have been victims of Mr Davidson’s predatory behaviour.

‘It is because he expects to get sex on demand that he will resort to rape and sexual assault if he is not given what he thinks he deserves.’

Davidson is accused of secretly filming himself raping another woman after an argument at his North Finchley flat on October 1, 2013.

He is also accused of filming another woman performing a sex act on him without her consent before allegedly raping her later at his home.

This same alleged victim claims she was treated as ‘some sort of sexual slave’ by Davidson, who also forced her to clean his home.

Another woman, who met Davidson on the dating app Plenty of Fish in February 2012, and went to stay with him in March 2015, also alleged that she woke up in his bed to find Davidson having sex with her.

Davidson was initially arrested at his home on March 30 2021, and questioned about one of the alleged rapes and two alleged sexual assaults, as well as the videos.
