Zelenskyy’s wife buying a Bugatti is fake news

Not only is the evidence exculpatory, but Bugatti itself has now confirmed Olena Zelenska is not a customer

Or that the Instagram account of the supposed auto salesman who leaked the purchase — these sort are, of course, amongst the most prolific of adult social-media users — is only four days and four posts old. Ignore even the fact the website that originally reported the news — Verite Cachee, or “Hidden Truth” in French‚ is likewise, brand-new and extremely shoddy-looking.

Pretend that Zelenska, who seems to abhor public attention as much as Justin Trudeau covets it, might just be amongst the least likely of “celebrity” Bugatti owners imaginable. Still wanna believe she just bought a new Bug? Then pay no heed when I tell you that I was there when the Tourbillon was introduced to (hopefully) paying customers, and I can assure you, because I was hunting for a celebrity hook to “viral-ize” my story, that the president’s wife wasn’t there.

“Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. respects the privacy of its customers and does not normally disclose any information about its customers. In this case, Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. makes an exception because it is a false report and does not correspond to the truth. According to an internal check, Mrs. Zelenska is not a Bugatti customer. Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. does not wish to comment on or anticipate any further assessments regarding the suggested reports besides that it is ‘fake news.’”

I can only imagine how painful that statement was for Bugatti’s public relations team to release. I have witnessed personally the company’s unrelenting guarding of its customers’ privacy. Even issuing a something as otherwise innocent as a denial of ownership is unprecedented. That it did so amidst the most politically-heated conflict today makes the issuance of the above statement all the more unusual.
