Palestine protest set to take place outside Caisse offices Wednesday

Protesters are demanding responses from the Caisse CEO and Quebec’s premier.

The organizers of the pro-Palestinian encampment at Victoria Square are holding a protest Wednesday in front of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) to try to convince the Quebec government financing body to divest from Israel.

“Eleven days after a new free zone was set up (by) the Al-Sumud People’s Encampment at ‘Square Victoria’, the silence of the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), Charles Émond, and the Premier of Quebec, François Legault, regarding the demands of the Divest for Palestine Collective is appalling,” the announcement of the protest reads.

The rally is set to take place at noon Wednesday in front of the CDPQ offices.
