WWE superstar Rhea Ripley has got married to fellow professional wrestler Buddy Matthews in a suitably gothic ceremony.
The two Australian stars, who met while working for WWE, tied the knot over the weekend and the Judgment Day leader has confirmed the news with the first photo from their wedding day.
In the sweet snap, Rhea – who is currently recovering from a devastating injury suffered after WrestleMania in April – has given everyone a hint at her bridal gown.
The former Women’s World Champion and her AEW star husband both went for an all black look for the big day as they kissed for the camera.
Even her bouquet had a gothic twist, while the newlyweds posed in front of a red sign which read ‘Til Death’.
Rhea echoed the sign in her caption for the picture, as she simply wrote: ‘Til death. 🖤23.06.24’
Fans and fellow wrestlers have been quick to offer their congratulations, with Cathy Kelley jokingly referencing her tongue in cheek chase for Rhea as she wrote: ‘You win this round buddy.’
Rhea’s on screen partner Dominik Mysterio was all about the emojis as he commented ‘🖤🖤🖤🙌’, while Bianca Belair added: ‘Congrats!!!!!!’
‘Congratulations,’ wrote departing WWE broadcaster Kayla Braxton, and Raw ring announcer Samantha Irvin described the announcement as ‘perfect’.
Some of Rhea’s passionate fans couldn’t help but joke about their disappointment they weren’t the ones to marry Rhea, with @that_cuban_one teasing: ‘Pack it up gays, we lost 😔’
However, @shiningpolaris replied: ‘Wow!!! Omg ❤️❤️❤️ HUGE CONGRATS! So happy for you guys!! 🥳’
Aussie couple Rhea and Buddy – who are frequent workout partners – appeared to make their relationship official in May 2022, having met two years earlier in WWE.
Their romance has blossomed even after he was released and made the jump to AEW, and in August 2023 he popped the question as the pair confirmed their engagement.
Last year, Rhea was forced to publicly defend her man from trolls using her on-screen relationship with Judgment Day teammate Dominik to roast him on social media.
And shortly before their engagement, she opened up about how much she appreciates being able to turn to her man for support, as they both understand the specific pitfalls of the wrestling world..
