Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr., thinks he and King Charles are both shut out by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Thomas Sr. has compared himself to the British monarch, 75, saying that they’re both battling respective health woes while being estranged from their children.
“I would love to speak to him because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do,” the “Suits” alum’s father told the Daily Mail Saturday.
“Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received,” he said of Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer in February. “He is going through cancer treatment, and I’m not in the best of health.”
Thomas, 79, shared that he feels “deep empathy” for the King, whom he believes is “in the same boat” as him.
“I have so many questions I’d like to ask Meghan and Harry,” he said. “The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the royal family and the king so badly?”
Elsewhere, the retired TV lighting director issued a desperate plea to meet his grandchildren ahead of his 80th birthday.
Ahead of his July 18 birthday, Thomas Sr. begged his daughter to let him see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“I’ve never been one for birthdays, but I know the one person I most want to hear from, Meghan, won’t be in touch,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage.”
Meghan’s relationship with her father became strained in 2018 shortly before her wedding to Prince Harry, and has only continued to sour after the Hollywood director suffered a stroke in 2022.
Thomas Sr. has yet to meet Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
“They have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the King of England,” he said. “I never in my 80 years thought I’d be in the same boat as the king.”
He also took a dig at Harry, asking why he’s never made an effort to meet him despite having “the resources to fly around the world.”
“What man gets married without meeting his wife’s father?” he asked.
