Cyclist suffers serious head injuries after she was hit by a car in Mont-Royal

According to witnesses, the cyclist lost control of her bicycle and hit a car travelling on Lombard Crescent.

A cyclist hit by a car in the town of Mont-Royal on Friday evening is in stable condition in hospital.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Lombard Crescent., near Portland Ave, according to Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson for Montreal police early Saturday morning.

The cyclist, a 52-year-old woman, was on the ground and was “semi-conscious” when the police arrived, said another police spokesperson, Véronique Dubuc.

The victim had serious head injuries and was in critical condition when taken to hospital.

According to witnesses, the cyclist lost control of her bicycle and hit a car travelling on Lombard Crescent.

A security perimeter that had been erected at the scene to allow investigators to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident has since been lifted.

The police investigation continues.
