Montreal police say four people kidnapped in Old Montreal

Police had received a 911 call about a “conflict” on de la Commune St. at around 4 a.m.

Montreal police are investigating what they describe as a quadruple kidnapping in Old Montreal early Friday morning.

According to police, a 911 call was made around 4 a.m. to report a “conflict” near the intersection of de la Commune and St-Hubert Sts.

Once on site, police officers received information leading them to believe four people had been kidnapped from the area.

“At this stage of the investigation, no details will be released in order to not interfere with the ongoing search,” said Montreal police spokesperson Véronique Dubuc.

Investigators with the police department’s major crimes unit have taken over the investigation.
