An alleged drunk driver fatally mowed down a pedestrian after leaving a Texas Hooters and then fled the scene with the victim’s severed arm still in the front seat of his BMW, cops said.
Juan Morgan Munoz, 31, allegedly struck the victim in Dallas just after midnight on Saturday before speeding off towards his workplace, Maaco Auto Body Shop, about a mile away, Fox4 reported.
Munoz, who was already on probation due to prior DWI convictions, eventually called 911 on himself roughly an hour later.
When officers arrived at his work, they found Munoz’s car with a gaping hole in the windshield and “an entire arm” on the blood-covered front passenger seat, according to his arrest affidavit.
Other body matter was also discovered inside the vehicle, police said.
The alleged perp, who cops noted had “glassy/watery eyes, slurred speech” and reeked of alcohol, claimed he’d only taken “one Patron shot in the afternoon” in the lead up to the grim hit-and-run.
He failed multiple field sobriety tests and his breathalyzer test came back at .179 — more than twice the legal limit, police said.
Munoz was taken into custody on felony DWI and collision involving death charges.
He had already pleaded guilty in 2018 to a DWI charge in New Hampshire and another last summer in Fort Worth, Texas.
The victim in the most recent incident hasn’t yet been identified publicly.
