Jessie J has been diagnosed with early breast cancer.
The singer decided to be an “open book” and share her health scare with her Instagram followers in an emotional video Tuesday.
“Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,’” the “Price Tag” performer, 37, said, explaining that she will have surgery after the June 15 Summertime Ball 2025 concert in London.
“It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I will come back with massive tits and more music,” Jessie quipped — before clarifying in her caption that she was “joking.”
She did note, “I get to keep my nipples, so that’s good. It’s a weird topic and a weird situation.”
The Grammy nominee went on to explain the mixed feelings she had about discussing her diagnosis publicly.
Jessie ultimately decided to do so because she doesn’t “talk about it enough.”
The songwriter admitted, “I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories.
“I need a hug,” she continued. “You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don’t want this to be any different.”
Jessie called the “timing of it all … mad but also beautiful” as she released her “No Secrets” single in April.
Fellow A-listers shared their support in the comments section.
“Love you! We all are sending healing energy to youuu… excited for the massive tits and more music ♥️,” Katy Perry wrote, while Katharine McPhee sent “healing vibes.”
Jessie’s announcement comes nearly one year after she opened up about her ADHD and OCD diagnoses.
In her July 2024 reveal, she credited motherhood with “expos[ing]” her conditions “a lot more.”
Jessie welcomed son Sky, now 2, in May 2023 after previously suffering a miscarriage.
She shares the little one with basketball player Chanan Colman, whom she has been dating since 2021.
