An inside look at the snap change Jaxson Dart is making at Giants rookie minicamp

There was no need for a round of applause the first time Jaxson Dart used a snap count during Friday’s practice.

A viral video clip of former NFL head coach Jon Gruden teasing Dart for clapping when he wanted the ball snapped at Ole Miss helped create a false impression the Giants’ rookie quarterback has a big adjustment to make just to get the ball into his hands.

“Really? Every time?” the Super Bowl winner asked Dart during a pre-draft meeting for “Gruden’s QB Class” on Barstool Sports. “No s–t. For three years, you’ve been clapping? I think I could do that.”

But it turns out that transitioning from clapping to NFL verbiage is a relatively simple change to get the hang of when he runs the third-team offense during OTAs and training camp.
