Brandon Jones, the Missouri offensive line coach, arrived to work two Saturdays ago to take care of a few things in the office on an “off’’ day and was immediately struck by what he witnessed inside the Tigers’ empty stadium.
It was Armand Membou, alone, running the steps inside Farout Field at Memorial Stadium, the place where the 21-year-old right tackle had spent the previous three seasons carving out a collegiate career that would land him as the Jets’ first-round pick in Thursday night’s 2025 NFL Draft.
Membou was already finished with the combine and the many pre-draft visits and interviews with prospective NFL team coaches and executives.
The hay was already in the barn as it pertained to his workouts and making impressions on NFL teams considering him as their top draft pick.
