Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs’ daughter died earlier this week after a courageous battle with cancer, he announced on social media Friday. The 37-year-old was a mother of three.
“Earlier this week, our daughter Cosette lost her battle with cancer. We are devastated by her passing, but take comfort knowing she is at peace with the Lord,” the 66-year-old Republican wrote on X.
“We are grateful our family could gather to spend her final days by her side,” he added.
“Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and support. We are humbled by this great community and the outpouring of love for Cosette and our family,” the statement concluded.
Biggs and his wife Cindy, whom he married in 1982, share five other children and 11 grandchildren, according to his website.
