ABC is fed up with feud rumors about David Muir and George Stephanopoulos.
The network hit back at online speculation that Stephanopoulos, 64, is displeased with his colleague Muir, 51, being named one of Time100’s “Most Influential People of 2025.”
“This is a tired narrative,” a rep for ABC told the Daily Mail on Friday.
The spokesperson insisted that “everyone at ABC News is proud of David’s recognition.”
ABC did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Time magazine honored Muir on Wednesday, with Diane Sawyer penning a gushing tribute to the “World News Tonight” host.
“I am lucky that my successor is also the irreverent friend I want to hang out with when the camera shuts down,” Sawyer, 79, wrote.
“He shows up calm, respectful and fearless,” she continued.
Muir took over Sawyer’s anchor chair and managing editor role when she exited “World News Tonight” in 2014.
Notably, Stephanopoulos acknowledged Muir’s honor on Wednesday when his “Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts exclaimed, “David Muir! Our own David Muir!”
He added, “Congratulations to David and all the nominees.”
Stephanopoulos and Muir have been the subject of feud speculation since Sawyer’s exit more than a decade ago, with the former being named ABC News’ chief anchor at the time.
Page Six reported in January that Stephanopoulos also has a new rival at the network: his “This Week” co-host Jonathan Karl.
“Jon wants the show for himself!” a source told us of the 57-year-old journalist. “The bench has been ready to go for years. [The attitude has been] when is [Stephanopoulos] going to step aside?”
At the time, however, an ABC rep claimed the colleagues “have a friendly and mutually respectful relationship.”
