The former child star, 39, who appeared in a variety of TV shows and movies including “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Gossip Girl,” was found by her mother on Feb. 26 in her Central Park South apartment.
She had undergone a liver transplant in the last year, which sources at the time speculated may have contributed to her death. Some fans had expressed concerns about her health in the months before she died after Instagram posts shared by the actress appeared to show her looking frail and gaunt.

However, following a review of laboratory test results, the medical examiner amended the cause of death to complications of diabetes mellitus.
Trachtenberg’s sudden death shocked fans and former co-stars, including Rosie O’Donnell, David Boreanaz and Melissa Gilbert, to flock to social media with an outpouring of support for the young actress.
She got her first credited acting role at the age of nine on the classic 1990s Nickelodeon series “The Adventures of Pete and Pete,” portraying the main characters’ quirky gal-pal Nona F. Mecklenberg. She made her film debut in 1996’s “Harriet the Spy,” in which she played the title character.
