Wilmer-Hutchins HS shooting in Dallas prompts large police presence: report

A 17-year-old was shot and at least three other people were injured in a “shooting incident” at a Dallas high school where a student opened fire a year ago, according to reports.

Police were called to Wilmer-Hutchins High School after receiving calls of several shots fired on the school’s campus just after 1 p.m. local time, Fox13 reported.

One 17-year-old boy was shot in the lower leg and three other victims have been transported to local hospitals, according to the outlet.

The Dallas Independent School District said the campus is now secure and parents could reunify with evacuated students, according to a statement posted to X.

The gunfire comes almost one year to the day since a 17-year-old student shot a classmate inside a classroom at the school.
