Don’t miss Greg Joyce’s text messages from The Bronx and beyond — he’s giving Sports+ subscribers the inside buzz on the Yankees.

Anthony Volpe has been going to Victus Sports since he was 13 years old, then a New Jersey product getting his bat needs taken care of at a company that got its start in South Jersey.

Ten years later, the partnership is squarely in the middle of the hottest topic around Major League Baseball and beyond.

Volpe is one of five Yankees swinging the new torpedo bat, getting his produced by Victus and using it to hit two home runs in his first two games.

And if the 48 hours after the Yankees’ bats went viral on Saturday are any indication, there may soon be at least one torpedo bat used in every lineup across the major leagues — or at least a wave of players trying them out
