Trump says country that purchases oil or gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay 25% tariff on ‘any trade they do with our country’

President Trump announced Monday that all countries that purchase oil or gas from Venezuela will be subject to a 25% tariff on all trade with the US, marking one of the harshest economic crackdowns on the dictator regime yet.

“Any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the United States on any Trade they do with our Country,” Trump raged on Truth Social in a lengthy post.

The tariffs will go into effect on April 2, the day Trump is set to announce a wide range of reciprocal global tariffs.
