While Clarkson did not address why she had been off the air, TMZ previously reported that it was due to a “personal matter.”

The outlet, however, clarified that the “American Idol” alum was “fine,” as the issue did not “directly involve” her.

Clarkson’s rep has not responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The host did not warn viewers of her departure before Simu Liu took over on March 3.

“Kelly isn’t able to make it today,” the Marvel actor said. “We’re sending her our very best. I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie, ‘Last Breath.’”

Liu joked that he was “not one to back down from a challenge.”

While Clarkson returned for her show’s March 4 episode, she was gone again by the end of the week.

Molly Sims, Willie Geist, Brooke Shields, Kal Penn and Wanda Sykes stepped in to guest host in the Grammy winner’s place.

Clarkson, notably, has made headlines over the years for taking breaks from hosting her show, which premiered in 2019.

In 2022, Clarkson spent “the whole summer in the mountains” with her two children: daughter River, 10, and son Remington, 8.

The former “The Voice” coach shares the little ones with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson, who settled her divorce from her former manager in 2021, said upon her return to the talk show that “it was really important to … shut down for a minute” and “center” her family.
