Liberty star Breanna Stewart undergoes knee surgery

Liberty star Breanna Stewart is on the mend after having a minor knee surgery.

Stewart, a two-time league MVP, successfully underwent a minor scope on her right meniscus Thursday, team sources told The Post.

She’s expected to be back on court for training camp as the Liberty gear up for their WNBA title defense.

Stewart shared a picture of herself smiling and throwing up a peace sign from a hospital bed on Instagram Thursday afternoon, with the caption, “Small thing to a giant.

“Might or might not retire the leg sleeve but definitely getting rid of all that tape, [if you know, you know],” she added.

She also lauded her team and the doctor who performed the surgery.

She ended her update, writing, “See you in the W.”

After winning her third WNBA title and first championship with the Liberty, Stewart spent part of this offseason playing in Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 professional women’s basketball league she helped co-found alongside Lynx star Napheesa Collier.

Thursday’s surgery comes three days after Stewart wrapped up her Unrivaled season with the Mist, who missed out of the league’s inaugural playoffs.

This year will mark Stewart’s ninth WNBA season and third with the Liberty.

Last season, she averaged 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Stewart also won her third Olympic gold during the 2024 Paris Games.
