PORT ST. LUCIE — Juan Soto is still coming to grips with the reality of having the richest contract in the history of baseball, but he’s ready to accept what comes with it.

On Monday, that included an unhinged fan on the grassy berm beyond the right field fence at Clover Park screaming, “Overpaid, overrated,” at Soto early in the Mets game against the Cardinals.

Soto clearly heard the fan yelling, turned and stared at him.

Then, in the bottom of the third, in a scene practically out of The Natural, Soto drilled a first-pitch cutter from right-hander Sonny Gray and homered to right — almost directly at the fan, who tried to catch the ball and fell down in the process.
