Blake Lively scores a win in Justin Baldoni legal battle as judge grants protective order

Blake Lively’s request for a protective order to prevent her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni from leaking sensitive material to the public was approved.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six Thursday, a judge granted the motion after the “Gossip Girl” alum’s team expressed their fears that Baldoni would release private videos, emails and text message exchanges with her famous friends.

Going forward, evidence both parties will use to prove their case in court, including non-public photographs and videos, audio recordings, “the identity and nature of personal relationships” and medical and mental health records, will be “confidential” and for “attorneys’ eyes only.”

However, there is a loophole in the protective order, as the filing states that “the Court is unlikely to seal or otherwise afford confidential treatment” for documents cited during the trial.

Therefore, the public will have access to submitted discoveries used in the courtroom in March 2026.

Lively’s team, however, is content with the ruling, telling TMZ, “The Court rejected the Wayfarer Parties’ objections and entered the protections needed to ensure the free flow of discovery material without any risk of witness intimidation or harm to any individual’s security.”

“With this order in place, Ms. Lively will move forward in the discovery process to obtain even more of the evidence that will prove her claims in Court,” her team continued.

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told Page Six that they were “in full agreement with the court’s decision to provide a narrow scope of protections to categories.”

Freedman alleged that his team has no interest in obtaining “private mental health records,” unlike Lively who had an “exceedingly overbroad demand for documents for a 2.5 year period of time which the court rightly quashed.”

“We remain focused on the necessary communications that will directly contradict Ms. Lively’s unfounded accusations,” he continued.

“We will oppose any efforts by Ms. Lively and her team to hamper our clients’ ability to defend against her attacks by incorrectly categorizing important information as ‘trade secrets.’”

Both parties were in support of the ruling.

Reps for Baldoni, 41, and Lively, 37, weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.

The judge’s ruling comes after the co-star’s legal teams appeared in court to discuss the matter on March 6.

The “Age of Adaline” star’s team argued there was a “significant chance of irreparable harm” of “high profile individuals with no relevance to the case” if certain communications “were to fall into wrong hands.”

In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment, alleging the latter made comments about her and Ryan Reynolds’ intimate life and discussed his porn addiction past.

The producer countersued Lively and the “Deadpool” star for $400 million in January and has since launched a website with several text message exchanges between him and Lively.

While Baldoni didn’t name any of Lively’s friends in the lawsuit or leaked evidence, he heavily pointed at Taylor Swift, whom he seemingly referred to as a “megacelebrity friend.”
