A gunman once accused of shooting a pregnant woman in 2015 was busted in a Brooklyn subway station with a gun this week– making him the latest repeat offender to be rearrested, cops said.
Elijah Wells was arrested Thursday on the Utica Avenue A/C subway platform after he was stopped for farebeating and cops found a revolver in his left inner coat pocket, cops said.
Wells, 29, who allegedly struggled with police when they attempted to handcuff him, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, obstruction of governmental administration and criminal trespassing, cops said.
Wells was charged with attempted murder and assault in 2015 for allegedly shooting a pregnant woman in Red Hook, Brooklyn, police sources said.
He was acquitted of the charges.
Special-Caijae Houston, 19, was hit twice in the chest and twice in the buttocks as the spray of bullets rained down on a group of bystanders waiting for Chinese takeout near the corner of Dwight and Delavan streets, witnesses said.
The shooting caused the mom-to-be to miscarry, officials said at the time.
Wells was a member of the Bloods-affiliate OWW OWW gang, according to a 2015 indictment.
Two other men were also charged.
Wells’ rap sheet also includes an arrest in 2018 for criminal possession of a weapon, and assault arrests in 2017 and 2015, police sources said.
